मान्यता: सबसे पहले लोगों के मन में यह धारणा है कि IVF से पैदा हुए बच्चे मानसिक एवं शारीरिक रूप से दुर्बल या कमजोर होते हैं।
सत्य: IVF के द्वारा पैदा हुए और सामान्य रूप से पैदा हुए बच्चों में कोई अंतर नहीं होता है। वे मानसिक एवं शारीरिक रूप से स्वस्थ होते हैं।
मान्यता: IVF के बाद गर्भवती महिला को नौ महीने तक Bed rest करना पड़ता है।
अंतराष्ट्रीय Research ने यह प्रमाणित कर दिया है कि जो महिला IVF के बाद पूर्णतया Bed rest करती हैं उसमें गर्भावस्था में होने वाली समस्यायें जैसे High BP, Diabetes, Obesity इत्यादि होने की संभावना अधिक होती है। अत: IVF Pregnancy में औरतों को अपनी आम दिनचर्या के सारे काम करने चाहिए।
मान्यता: IVF में भ्रूण का लिंग देखकर चयन किया जाता है
सत्य: IVF में औरत के अंदर से Egg और पति के अंदर से sperm लेकर laboratory में embryo बनाकर वापस औरत की बच्चेदानी के अंदर डाला जाता है और embryos का Sex Selection अथवा लिंग की जानकारी नहीं दी जाती है।
मान्यता: IVF से बच्चा होने के बाद औरत का शरीर कमजोर हो जाता है और IVF में लगने वाले injection के side effect बहुत severe होते हैं।
सत्य: IVF में लगने वाले injections से कोई Major side effect नहीं होता है।
Headache, bloating, चक्कर आना जैसे Minor side effects कुछ ही औरतों में होते हैं।
Injections यदि उचित मात्रा में लगते हैं तो इनसे कोई भी नुकसान न बच्चे और न ही मां को होता है।
